Webcalendar @ BuckoSoftOriginal Charter | March 28, 2010 |
We have been using WebCalendar to manage our family's calendar for 10 years.
Recently, I purchased an iPhone which has cool dynamic calendaring updates.
So, I sauntered over to WebCalendar@sourceforge because my crusty old version 1.0.4 was released before iCal and CalDAV became household words (among geeks anyway) and it won't play with my iPhone
WebCalendar version 1.2.0 was released on September 27, 2008. It is a fine release and has many great features over 1.0.4
Alas, it also has several bugs, some moderately severe, and there has not been a bugfix release since then.
Several people have contributed patches to fix these bugs.
I have gathered them all up and published them. I call my release 1.2.1-dik1. I wanted to call it 1.2.0+patches because that's what it is, but I thought that might lend an air of officialness to my humble little release. And it is not official. This is merely a stopgap so that people can download a working version.
There has been activity recently on the CVS HEAD towards a 1.3.0 release, but that doesn't help those of us wanting a working version now. I looked at the code for 1.3.0 and I like what they are doing with it (modularizing css for one thing).
I have made no changes to the database, so there is a clear upgrade path from 1.2.0 (or 1.2.1-dik1) to 1.3.0 when it comes out.
So, here is BuckoSoft's Webcalendar-1.2.1-dik1.tgz and here is a little git web-cgi showing the patches I applied from 1.2.0 to this version.
